I like the look of this thong, with a comfortable pouch. Also a cotton mix fabric, which I prefer to polyester or nylon/lycra as underwear. (But bamboo is even better)

I like the Cocksox designs. but I tend to avoid mesh fabrics as they can be rather harsh on the skin. But your review says this mesh is soft, so I am tempted to try it....

I have been reading all of the UNB reviews of Cocksox and finally ordered a couple of pairs to give them a try. I ordered the CX21N Jock & Brief. I have to agree with everything written with the exception of the pouch. I found the pouch to be big and sloppy. You literally are just hanging, with zero support of any king, the pouch felt like a boxer. Sorry, but for me a jock and brief should provide some kind of support. So I would agree with all 9's across the board and a 1 for the pouch.

Good article. Thanks Tim. Would also be fitting to mention that Flarico who came on the scene 5 years later with their F110 jock (in the late 1890s) has also closed up shop. I think all your reasons for the demise are all correct but personally I think another factor is simply that it's not worth the effort to make and sell a jockstrap for under $9. Fruit of the Loom ended taking over the Bike brand and perhaps that was their motivation (or lack thereof) for shutting it down. We (Jockstrap Central) were importing Bike from Europe when North America stopped manufacturing and because of shipping and duties had to charge $15+ and they still sold like hotcakes.

Good story. I am also self-conscious about wearing a thong to the beach. I did it once this summer, in South of France, with my girlfriend (who encourages me to dare to wear as little as possible).
It was in September so the beach was not crowded, but plenty of people around sunbathing & swimming. I wore a very brief thong by JovanaDesign, with a 3D pouch and a blue & black pattern. I felt very exposed walking down to the sea to swim, but it was also exciting & I look forward to doing it again. (Having my girlfriend with me certainly helped)

I agree that an unlined swim brief is more comfortable, but may be revealing. I have one solution, get a brief with a pattern. I have an N2N swim brief like this one, but it has a strong pattern (dark blue floral design on a light blue background). This effectively disguises any details of the bulge.

I always wear bikini-style briefs for swimming. In South of France this summer I wore Muscleskins, Joe Snyder and Aussiebums on the beach. I saw one other guy wearing a tanga style with string sides.

I have some Cocksox briefs, I think they are very comfortable, well-made and look great. But as you say Tim, "The bulge may be too showy". I am not well-endowed but these briefs create a visible bulge in my jeans, so I can only wear them if I wear a long shirt that covers my groin. (Maybe some guys aren't bothered about that effect of course)
